James 1:27 N.L.T. - Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
THIS is our heart. This is the calling. To let them know, HE is on their side.
The orphan clings to Your hand
Singing the song of how he was found
The widow rejoices
For her oppressors are silenced now
You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor
You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore
When You could just be silent and leave us here to die
Still, You sent Your Son for us
You are on our side
The runaway falls at Your feet
You are what he has searched for
The rich man is broken
When he stands beneath a sky full of stars
You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor
You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore
When You could just be silent and leave us here to die
Still, You sent Your Son for us
You are on our side
You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor
You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore
When You could just be silent and leave us here to die
Still, You sent Your Son for us
You are on our side
Still, You sent Your Son for us
You are on our side
I cannot watch this video without tears because of this overwhelming feeling of compassion and burden rising up in me. On days in which I begin to lose focus on what it’s really all about, this has been the video Christ draws me back to. HE IS on our side, but some of them will never know if we don’t show them. Notice I didn’t say tell? We have no choice. We are called followers of Christ. Therefore, the work of the Father rests on our shoulders. He has and is equipping us continually, now it’s up to us. Will we obey? Will we go?
Simply an awesome song and words! Are we redemptive care givers and even sufferers?

Rachel Rowell - Yes the Christian life is really a witness from our own lives of a spirituality of a redemptive suffering…2 Cor.4:7; 10-11. Thanks again for yours!
